Am I alone in not being thrilled at the LCD picture on the HVX? We had a three camera setup for a studio programe mixed live, 2 DVX's and the new HVX and in even in SD the DVX was so much easier to work with as far as the HVX LCD goes. Then when shooting HD means that focusing gets even harder and a good idea of what is happening on set is in no way easy to judge in camera.

I cannot concur here. I found the LCD a big dissapointment. However as Mr.Green has said elsewhere, what we are trying to do is focus a high def image on a low rez display. So there will be short comings. I find myself using the viewfinder as much as possible which in fact has a higher pixel count.

Kind regards

I could agree on the hires vs low res pixel count but in sd mode . . . boy :(. I ould have loved to use this camera as a total replacement of the dvx all together and use it as an overkill setup anyday, but as things stand I would much rather hang onto the dvx to shoot non HD.

I hear what your saying. But miss out on DVCPRO 25 & 50?
And 16.9?

Anyone know of a relatively low cost, smallish HD monitor that would be beneficial/cost effective for viewing footage on-site, rather than relying upon the viewfinder?

The Marshall seems to be popular.

Either the BT-LH900 8.4", 16 x 9, LCD HD Monitor (about $4000 - BH); or the Marshall V-R70P-HDSDI, LCD, 7", HD Monitor ($1,750 - BH)
