View Full Version : We're out, so check it out!

OK, after long deliberation, we decided that our film had no chance of being cut down to 5 minutes. So, we'll be entering the short out of competition.

The good news is that now we can let y'all know about it - see our post in the Cafe (http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=53793), or go directly to the official website, TheOre.net (http://theore.net)

Ahh man! I'm disappointed it couldn't be in the Hero Fest. After looking at your stuff, there's sooo much more I need to learn about cinematography and lighting. Jeeze. I'm a humbled SOB.

Sam, as always GREAT stuff ... and I LOVE how you make your websites for these films of yours. I SO envy you, my friend. :)

And take this as a sincere compliment, when I say it's a relief to see you're out ... from a competition stand point, of course.

This really looks great. I just watched the teaser and it's teasing good. Can't wait to see the finished film. Looks very inspiring and ambitious. Who's scoring the film? I didn't see any credits yet on the Personnel page.

Anyway, I wish you the very best for this and future projects!

I just watched the teaser trailer and all I can say is.....Thank you for dropping out of the competition

Seriously though, that is great stuff....it looked like a teaser for a real sci-fi film. I can't wait to see the finished product.

Looks sexy. I'd love to see what Curugon could do with some spare time and a 35mm adapter.

that was fire.......

I loved your trailer! Every time I see something like this I look at my DVX100A and say "Yep, same camera - I wonder where the magic button is located so my stuff can look like that." Seriously though, you inspire me to keep trying.

lots of lighting...... and knowing what to do with it, thats the magic button.

Man that was AWESOME!!! I love the line where she say, "I'm here now". There is so much conviction in her voice!

What were the effects done in? Can't wait for the short and the BTS.

OK, after long deliberation, we decided that our film had no chance of being cut down to 5 minutes. So, we'll be entering the short out of competition.

The following is NOT a quote..unless you're quoting me talking to myself while I watched the trailer, in which case, yes, it is a quote but only if you were...oh, never mind.

OK, after short deliberation that our film has no chance of being......period, we'll be entering into a short period of weeping at our inability to compete on anything remotely resembling the material Curugon posted.

Criminey, that's good.

04-29-2006, 08:09 AM
I have to go change my shorts now 'cause that was so freakin' awesome.

04-29-2006, 08:39 AM
Nice work. One of the few trailers that actually intrigued me to see more. Good job.

Hells ya! dug the video about the making of the trailer. Best of luck to your project. Keep sending out the email updates... That seems to be the best marketing strategy ever! Otherwise, I'd forget checking in unless something like this email update was there to remind me.

SWEET! Absolutely intriguing! Can't wait. Keep up the podcast updates! Maybe something on your Greenscreen techniques? What was your camera mounted on in the behind the scenes greenscreen shots? Looked like a boom pole?

Will I be able to play these on the PSP? I dont have a video Ipod since the screen on the PSP is nicer and a better aspect ratio.

05-26-2006, 11:09 AM
I think so. They're in M4V format, which I believe the PSP supports but could be wrong.

The camera was mounted on a Glidecam Camcrane 200 (http://www.glidecam.com/product-camcrane-200.php), my personal lord and savior.

05-29-2006, 11:02 AM
very nice . . . . but too short :)

05-30-2006, 08:45 AM
I'll just have to repeat others:
Thanks for dropping out :D

Just kidding, too bad you can't compete with it, but I'm guessing you're joining a lot of other filmfests with that?

06-01-2006, 06:57 AM
Because I can't come close to anything that good! Nice work guys. When can I buy the DVD? You've got my money.

06-01-2006, 11:16 AM
Thanks guys. We're hoping to get the DVD out within a month's time, and try our luck at the fests after that. We just shot more material for the BTS last night - we want to cover as much of the process as possible and make it interesting. Suggestions on what we should highlight are welcome.

06-01-2006, 12:34 PM
amazing work once again :d

06-01-2006, 04:18 PM
