Turning black leather yellow....

So I'm trying to get my costume for my hero together, does anyone know what I could use to paint black gloves yellow?

I'm not sure of the material, they are in the mail.....but wondering if anyone here has some fabric knowledge.

Also, what makes a good cape?

Painting fabric most likely would never work, the only way is to dye it. And black wouldn't show a dye.
