I was wondering if by chance anyone has shot the same scene with a 35mm adpater and than again with just the regular old stock lens. If anyone has, can they show the comparison? I'm mainly looking for the difference in mood and tone of the scenes and how they're affected by DOF.
I don't know if anyone has done this, but I'd love to see. I think it could create some intresting debate in the look of film vs video.
Maybe someone could shoot something? I don't have an adapater, otherwise I would.

You may want to check the redrock site for some example footage...

Good idea. I'd also like to see the same shots comparing the two... I'll check out "redrock" also.

Why was this moved to the HVX forum?

It was suppossed to be moved to the DVX Hardware section. The real question is; why was it posted in the Framegrabs section to begin with ?

because.. when someone posts grabs or clips it would be in the right forum :P

if you start a short in 35mm ADapter stay in 35mm, thats my advice. The 35mm adapters tend to change alot about the picture. The sharpness, the color curves, the way highlights are handled... its a completley different image. Even on wide shots, i would say, leave it on, because it will be very difficult to match up the two.

IMO if you use the 35mm adapter in particular shots that are set in a different mood there isnt a problem. You do need to do some post work though.

well yea, but thats not always the case. if its one short shot that needs SHDOF within a scene it will be a pain to match the footage to the rest.
