I know there are various solutions for iris, zoom, and focus, but anything for just zoom and record?

yup! Bebob, Varizoom, Manfrotto (others?) all make Zoom & start/Stop controllers for the DVX/HVX - which isn't LANC by the way.

Anybody ever seen a wireless lanc sender ?

doesn't matter, DVX/HVX don't use LANC!
A wirelss analog link should be relativly easy though. I'd love to see Bartech come up with an interface for the HVX.

The HVX has remote zoom s/s and focus iris 'lanc like' 3.5mm and 2.5mm mini jacks

yeah, but they anr't actually LANC, and that leads to confusion as the LANC controller is different and won't work with the HVX/DVX
LANC is a serial data interface and limted by the standard.
The ports ont he HVX/DVX are analog, simple potentiomiters work for the variable controls and the start/stop is a gimple GPI trigger (and therfor compatible with anything [except LANC])
