For regular production work I have been shooting w/ HVX and importing the P2 clips into FCP 5 on my iBook. From there, I transfer the footage to an external hard drive.

Later, I boot that drive up on my G5 and edit. Now, once I upgrade to the new FCS 5.1, I'll only be able to install the new discs on one computer. So my G5 will run 5.1 while my iBook runs 5.0.4. What kind of potential problems will I be running into when dealing with 1080 24pa footage? Can anyone with the latest version of 5.1 do some testing?

I am wondering whether importing through 5.0.4 w/ a 1080 24pa clip will destroy the neccessary information that will allow 5.1 to read it correctly and recognize the clip as native 24 fps.

Anyone?

I currently have 5.0.4 FCS on my iBook. This is used for importing the P2 clips. I run FCP 4.5 on my G5 but I'm upgrading that system to 5.1 FCS. Will I have to upgrade my iBook as well to 5.1? OR can I still import the 1080 24pa clips through my iBook, transfer to harddrive, boot on G5 with 5.1 and have it recognize the 24pa clip rather than the 60i clip.
