There have been many posts pertaining to the fig rig and after reading most of them, I have been coming to the conclusion that the Fig Rig may be the best option for quick-setup/steadiness, and of course budget. I was wondering to those who have experience with the rig, if this seems true and if the Fig-Rig is the best rig for steady run and gun shooting on a budget.
I will be traveling overseas this summer to produce a documentary and am looking for a rig that has the quickest set-up and make the HVX handle more smoothly. A lot of shooting will be spontaneous and high-action. How much does the fig-rig really steady your shot, and how long can you hold the set-up for shooting duration.
Any help/advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

The fig rig is very useful in run and gun if you have a zoom/focus/start/stop controller of some kind on it. I have a varizoom VZrock and it rocks as far as giving you great control over the camera while your hands are on the wheel.
