theres a utility called "Macdrive" that you put on your PC. This allows your PC to see the mac created quicktime files on your external hard drive or disk. Then import into After Effects. :)

Remember the monitor gamma differences (1.80 mac / 2.20 pc).

Thanks guys. I'm going to try this out tonight. I'll try the demo and see if it works ;)

Or connect a direct ethernet cable between the machines and enable windows file sharing in the sharing preference pane in system preferences.
The pane will tell you the address to put into the "Map network drive" dialog in Windows.

The speed is pretty fast with 1000mbps connection.

Or get a firewire drive you have hanging around and do a FAT format on it. Partitions are limited to 30 gigs each. I do this to transport files back and forth. And yes your Mac .mov will look dark on the PC.
Your workflow will determine what you need to do. You just need to test before hand.

I can't view the final cut saved files as quicktimes with macdrive. Is there a way to save it with final cut to be viewable on PC in after effects?

you could do a 'lossless' export, through compressor, if you have it from fcp to another format that your pc supports......
also if you are trying to grab the .mov file in the 'capture' folder, this is your problem. you need to file/export/quicktimefile or using quicktimeconversion... i cant remember which... anyways- someone care to follow up with more acurate info along these lines?
