Im having problems mounting my p2 card into my mac pcmcia slot on my powerbook. no Drive was mounting onto my desktop. Am i not doing something? (besides sticking it in) Has anyone else had this problem?
and while im here, Whats the best way to clear the card? should I delete everything when its mounted? i saw on another thread that said not to delete the txt file. Is it better or worse to format the card everytime i stick it in? Seems like a damper in time by having to format everytime.
Thanks to anyone that could help
have you downloaded the pcmcia driver included on the cd? is there footage on the p2?(card won't mount if p2 card is empty). you can clear the card after download by draging it into the trash can and delete. w/ the txt file(which is locked) go to get info(apple+i) and unlock the file. you can also format the card in the hvx.

Yea, boo's right. You have to download the driver...

thanks a lot guys. There is footage on the cards but i havent installed the driver. I could try it when i get a chance, but if i delete the txt file, do i have to reformat? seems like a waste of time to reformat while im in the middle of a shoot.
you don't need to reformat if you delete the files on your laptop. this is the way to do it if your continuously swapping cards in the middle of a shoot. if reformatting on camera, you're going to have to stop shooting in order to do it.

If you have a laptop, why bother shooting to P2. You can just stream Via firewire.
Also, if you select LOOP under REC FUNCTION the camera will automatically remove clips as it needs the space.

If you have P2 cards, why bother being tethered to a laptop? :)

Depends in what your doing.
