I wouldn't mind something clearing up please:

1) Can I use different size P2 together on the HVX - ie. a 4gb & 8gb

2) If I use the HVX now with P2/SD, do I just need the raylight (un-wrapper) to edit SD? Is this slow process, and can it be done from the camera?

thanks.

I'm just desperate to have the HVX with P2, even if I'm not Hi-def ready yet.

Yes Raylight+Vegas or Raylight+Premiere is all you need to edit
HD and SD with the HVX200. The conversion is very quick, about as
fast as a file copy, but it must be done on the computer.

As far as I know there is no problem mixing sizes of P2 card.

What about the P2 store.....does it format/partition based on the card size?
I think you can have a maximum of 15 partitions, but would that work if you had 8 gig and 4 gig cards?

At what point do the partitions form to the drive?

I only have two 4gig cards, but I believe it will take whatever size combination you have in there. You have to realize that it may leave a gap if you are shooting long shots and swapping--it takes longer to offload the 8gb card. The 4gb card will not cover the time span.
