Ive ingested 108024PA footage via P2 card and direct firewire capture (using 108060i setting on firewire and standard Panasonic P2 import for P2) and i cannot get FCP to remove the redundant frames from the clip.

Everytime i select "remove advanced pulldown" from the tools menu, with the clip highlighted, it says "File does not contain frames using advanced pulldown".

I thought this could be a media start media end issue that ive had a few times with the varicam, but it is not. I have shot numberous clips all at different lengths and it refuses to remove the pulldown.

Any tips?

Thank you.

FCP 5.0.4 does not actually support 1080 24PA yet. I'm sure the new FCP that will be at NAB will address this problem.

I have FCP 5.1 now and it still doesn't let me import 1080 24pa as 24 fps...it comes in as 29.97....anyone know why?

thanks,
ben

I have not tried this yet but here is some info about using Cinema Tools in FCP to do this.
