I'm sure you guys have seen the Truth anti-cigarette ad campaigns that have been going on for quite a while in the states - for people outside the U.S. check out thetruth.com to get a sense of what they're doing -
Shot this 2 days ago in downtown LA w/ the HVX - shot on tape and color corrected in FCP to give it 'the look'
enjoyo!

I shot onto tape, dv25 - I was gonna shoot in HD but then I thought, why, these commercials are all low resolution - plus I ended up shooting 52 minutes worth of footage and I only own one 4GB p2 card -
thanks imgen ! :)
Was the magenta tint on purpose?

Now I have to ask, Did you just do that on a random street corner. If so what the hell did the people walking around think. Some of those crowed shots are priceless.

Haha, well we shot all the audio beforehand at griffith park behind a few trees so that no one would bother us - then we went down to 4th street and Park in downtown LA - they weren't speaking through the megaphones - just mouthing it - A LOT of ppl would walk right up to them and stop, confused, not understanding what was really going on - it worked out in our favor, I'll have to post some other funny clips from that day - overall the shoot went by pretty quick, 1 hour to do audio and 2.5 hours of shooting - no cops hassled us either, this camera makes that possible because it's indiscrete
:)
oh yea, spread this video to friends if you like it - i'm trying to hopefully get it on ifilm's viral video - i'm also thinking about sending a copy to thetruth.com for fun

Good idea with the audio. I would send it to truth they might get a kick out of it. If you reedit the only thing You might change is with the shot of the gun. it stays on a little long but thats it. also did you ad some sounds in of the feedback/squelch and if so where did you find the sound??

That was really neat haha
I don't know if the overexposure was a good choice, but I really liked the drive behind it

Not as gangsta as this, http://hvx200.moctel.com/Users/rgdfilms/dre.mov
When I shot it, it was all properly exposed - I dumbed down the image to give it more of a "truth" look - their stuff isn't as overexposed and bleachy, but I like it.. thanks

I think the campaign started out well, but they really took it to the extreme on some of those.

Pretty funny stuff, nice job with the audio fake. Looks like you shot that within a block or two of my office... I'm sure most people didn't pay you a second glance with the number of nutjobs around here.

thanks doug, yea, nobody gave us any crap about being down there, I was pretty paranoid when I saw cops show up but they didn't mind-bigger fish to fry, plus with the HVX being so small, nobody thought twice, they were more confused about my actors silently screaming out of their megaphones
on another note, I was playing with the camera a few hours ago, I zoomed onto a fluorecent streetlight across the street, through my living room window - I focused on the window, which was speckled with raindrops - I put the shutter on 1/1000, shot at 60P 24pn - then I liked the result so much that I applied a glow-edge filter (saphire) as well as a edge ray filter (saphire) - i overcranked the chroma to +7, B-Press, Master ped -15 -
