I'm a hobbyist (high-end) and have only shot in DV in the past. In order to keep track of 6 to 7 years of video footage I have been using a logging software called CatDV Pro 4.0. The software works great for my DV needs and I like the workflow. The software creates low res versions of each DV clip and stores in one database. I can trim the clips and manage them like a big video database. When I ready to edit, I just select the highly rated clips that meet my search criteria and create a batch list that I can use with FCP.
I plan on purchasing an HVX200 (big jump up from what I'm been using) and would like to find software that will help me keep track of all of the P2 footage and where it is located (whether its archived on Blue-Ray discs or stored on various hard drives).
Does anyone have any suggestions, or is nothing available yet?
