Well I hope I didnt mess up. I shot one full tape 24PN and another in 24Padvanced.

I searched but was unsure for FCP the workflow I need to make them work on the same timeline for DVD output? I would prefer to work on a 29.97 timeline as some other elements may be used from older video sources.

Is 24PA capable to work on a 30fps timeline?

Thank You

My understanding is that anything can work, but shooting 24PN you've only recorded 24 frames (as opposed to 24P which records at 60 and then gives you the frames you need) - therefore the other 5.97 frames need to be generated by FCP out of what you've got. It shouldn't be too ugly, but it won't be that smooth either. Also, you'll probably need to render everytime you do anything to footage sitting in a timeline that has a different vid rate - so cut each type of footage in sequences appropriate for their content, then copy and paste the clips into a 30fps sequence (you'll have to render).

I'm not aware of a more direct route. Perhaps using Compressor or similar to create new clips at 30fps...but I don't know whether it would do a better job of it that FCP.
