Good LORD! I coudnt even throw the pigeons as well as he does, much less shoot them!

Best thing I ever did was to shoot one arrow inside another one, kinda Robin Hood style. They stuck that way in the target butt and I kept that sucker! haha!! It will never happen again! :D

theres this dude, Byron somethign, he used to be on this show called american shooter, thedude was shootin three aspirin in the air with a revolver, FROM THE HIP.

Then he shot a baloon at 300 yards ( 900 feet) with a 38 snub, on the first shot.

Then he shot 12 bullets out of his six shooter, ( he reloaded) in 2.24 seconds.....

So you're saying that if I found out where you were shooting your Herofest entry here in town, and I showed up with my chinese stars and recurve bow, I could, in essence, leave with your audio equipment, of which I have none?

You leave my at 4073a and my lav mics out of this! Ok I may not be brave but if you come between me and my children....

It'll take at least 2 more seconds before I decide to run like a girl!

And Mikko I USED to be a bad ass! Now I'm a big soppin wet Pu--(shut yo mouth!)

PS: Terri, I AM shooting a hero fest here. I have a LOT of people involved in this one too. Got a ton of lights and a lot of really nice equipment. Andrew's helping on it too. If you wanna come hang out, shoot second unit, or anything like that, I'd love to have you. We always have a blast on set, even if the finished product looks like shinola :)

Er..

thartley
03-23-2006, 04:21 PM
Terri, you shoot? What kind of bow do you have?

I used to shoot amateur competition around here, bare bow, only about 40 lb pull (if memory serves). It was just barely over the minimum pull to be legal to hunt, although I didnt hunt. I tore my rhomboid muscle in practice for competition about 8 yrs ago and have not been able to shoot since. :( I should take a pic of those arrows for you guys! Not that anyone cares, but it was so damned funny when it happened. We were nock hunting at the range, and the sound of that arrow splitting made heads whip around. hahaha!!!!!! Aluminum arrow actually split, peeled and curled when the second one stuck.

mikkowilson
03-23-2006, 04:25 PM
Robin hooded arrows are so cool. - it's hard to do too, because normally the aluminum arrows actually have a point at both ends, but the back then has a platic bit with the "notch" that hides the point. You've gota be dead center to split it or it will bounce of the aluminum point and just break the notch peice as it bounces off somwhere...

Was it your own arrow that you hit?
And (more importantly) was it on target? - or are you *really* good at missing?

That plastic bit you are talking about is the nock...and that's what we were doing: nock hunting. Just trying to see if we could hit the nocks of other arrows already shot into the targets. And yes, it was my own arrow. hehe!!!! Arrow #2 went perfectly center thru the nock, split the arrow, curled feathers, and stuck there! When it happened, I didnt even know what the sound meant, I just knew it sounded wierd. :)

oh, and I am not too bad at missing, either! heh! I went to a night shoot once about an hour after I had my eyes dilated. Shooting bare bow in the dark at paper targets with little reflectors about the size of a nickel that are supposed to be critter eyes was more funny than fun. I was chaperoned for safety! The not so good thing is I was using orange wooden arrows, and when you miss a target completely with a wooden arrow, no metal detector in the world is gonna find that sucker for you. LOL!

I went trap shooting the other day. THink I hit maybe 5 the whole day.

mikkowilson
03-23-2006, 04:40 PM
"nock".. you know, I knew that. (he says now).

You know, it doesn't count if you were trying to do it (unless it was you first try AND you stopped after the one).

- Mikko ... once made 2 half-court shots back to back (first & 2nd try) ... and then spent the next 20 mintues unsuccesfully trying to repeat the trick.

thartley
03-23-2006, 04:46 PM
We were trying, but I gotta tell you, it felt completely accidental! Never happened again, that's for sure! :)

I used to set up targets at the vacant lot at the end of my street. I would stick arrows in the ground at about 10 yard intervals for about 50 yards. I would run, pull the arrow out of the ground, nock, draw and release. I got to the point where I could hit a 12" square at about 75 feet at a dead run. BUt man, those days are long gone. The irony is that I grew up on Staten Island and used burned out cars for a backstop. Now that i live in the wide open west I never shoot anymore.
