I dont know if u guys heard of the success of booting windows on the intel mac,
My question is, does it mean that i can work on fcp then switch to windows to work on my digital fusion? and also will windows take full advantage of the hardware( as far as performance)?

what your opinion? cuz if so i'm ready to get a intel mac, and i think this could put an end on the "should i buy a mac or pc" war (or i am wrong?)

Speak on it.....

This is all REALLY preliminary. I think you should do some more research on the various mac rumor/geek sites - from there you can link to the site that actually performed the hack. You'll see that, while this is a relatively big step, there is a ton more "hacking" that needs to be done.

I do know that there is minimal functionality as far as drivers go...still no support for most, if not all video drivers.

At any rate, I wouldn't expect to be able to use a pro app like digital fusion on a jerry-rigged version of Windows running on the new macs, at least for a while. But keep up with the developments and you'll be able to gauge the success of the project and whether it will suit your particular needs.

I think that dual boot macs are going to very RAM hungry since they are running 2 very RAM hungry OS's, if they do run them at the same time. I just don't see how it can be justified for heavy duty video/effects work, maybe for your everyday Joe wanting to use a copy of Excel he already has, but beyond that it's probably better to build a cheap windows box. More performance, less hassle, feels great :)

I agree right now it's way to early to make plans on running pro apps.

Don't hop on it too quick. They hack didn't manage to be able to control the fans for cooling, etc. There's a good chance you could fry your mac. I'm sure in the coming months a stable hack will evolve, but for now, it's risky.

If you're still feeling brave, here ya go:
