OK. Having a FANTASTIC time with this camera. BTW! It's a splendid cam.
Trying to work out a simple workflow to downrez HD to SD. The two things I'm trying to work out are printing out from FCP to SD tape using the camera as a deck, and using compressor to create quicktime. My issues? Well...
1. Having a hella time using the camera to print to tape from a FCP firewire connection. PB does not seem to recognise the HVX. I've been following the instructions both in the manual and the apple fcp white paper, but something's not computing. I tried to use my wife's Panny 3 chip dv camera to print to tape, as well, but same problem. imovie recognises the camera, so it's not the firewire that's the problem.
I'm thinking the issue lies with my FCP external device settings, but I'm totally lost trying to get to the bottom of that. I've trying a variety of different settings, mainly for DVCPROHD or APPLE Firewire NTSC, to no avail. HELP?
2. I'm having trouble trying to get compressor to create a 16X9 aspect when downrezzing to quick time. There is a 16X9 option in the DVD settings, but not for quicktime. I've been fussing with timeline options, anamorphic checkbox ect, but have not found the solution.
Once I get these issues resolved, I should be able to post links to some interesting footage.
