Is there a special plugin needed for AE or can you do it in AE?

It's built into AE, I think it's under a different menu other than effects. It's menu next to help, forgot the name...it's where the motion track, wiggler, etc. are.

I can't remember what it was called, it might not have been in that menu. I have a book at home that details the process, I'll have to check it out and post what I find.
nice to have it. I need to try :D
I do not think you are searching for this.

Here is a tutorial online that teaches some basic and advanced morphing techniques. Its actually one of the best that I have found and used online.

Its an awesome tutorial, It really gives a realistic effect that can be applied to almost anything.
That's a great tutorial. I've also had some success a while back using Re:Vision Effects' plugin - Re:Flex, developed especially for this purpose.
