Where are the video files stored?

I'm finally working with a Mac and Final Cut Studio. Still learning just the basics with both Final Cut AND the Mac.

Quick question: Where are the actual files of video that I captured on the scratch disk? It only shows the FCP project icon in the document window. Where are the ACTUAL pieces of video? I need to make space on my hard drive and need to do some cleaning.

This is probably a stupid and elementary question, but an answer will greatly benefit me. Thanks in advance!

They are in your scratch disk.

If you can't find them, open FCP and then one of the preferences will show you where your scratch disk is set to... go there.

Or -- in the finder, do a spotlight for Capture Scratch -- this will show the folder.

The default folder is :
"Your User Folder" > Documents > Final Cut Pro Documents > Capture Scratch.

You can change the default location in FCP :
Final Cut Pro > System Settings > Scratch Disks.
