Greetings all. I have a bunch of footage that I'd like to share but no way to convert and then edit the footage until I get the FCP upgrade bundle. I'm kind of waiting to get the universal edition as I'm getting a macbook as well.

I'd love to meet up with someone locally or within a short drive (30-45 mins) to be able to convert the P2 footage into quicktime DVCPRO HD.. which I can and have edited quite a bit on FCP 4.5. I'd be happy to compensate somehow with some cash, trade out on cam, gear and or leave the footage to check out and mess around with.. as long as it's just personal use. I do have some client BS on the disks. Everything is either on my drive, on DVD-Rs or on the P2store.

FYI. I have a pretty decent timelapse... footage from a low-rent, but sweetly trashy carnival, prototype 240 mph race cars at Sebring Raceway, and now some pro skaters carving up a really sweet looking bowl.

Once I can get to this footage to cut.. I'll carve quite a bit of stuff and post it here. I need to share as so many have helped me to make this wise decsion....

This camera rocks. My footage is getting better each day as I learn how to work the camera.. and know what to expect. I even don't mind the weight now... And I almost exclusively shoot with the viewfinder.. so much easier for focus.

Well just thought I'd give it a shot.. Post here or send me a PM if this is something interesting to anyone.

Also, anyone know when the FCP is supposed to come out? The bundle upgrade for 200 is sweet! Can't wait to get motion for free pretty much.

How did you do the Timelapse? If you're in Seattle area we can help you. Here's a sample of shots I took with the HVX200:

Great footage, was that you skiing with the camera??
What were your settings. Looks like it handled the contrast pretty well.

KWR.. Timlapse has to be done in the videocam option. Once you've selected that, you just have to be in a non-native (not pn) recording format. I tend to do it in 1080 since the files are maybe 30 seconds at the max. 720 would work as well. Once you set this recording format you need to go into the recording format screen and change it from normal to interval. It should be white and not blued out. ONce you are in here you can select the interval. I did some experimentation and this is where you just need to do a few and also decide on the amount of time you want to do the timelapse for. If you are only going to do it for say 15 minutes, then you probably need to do one frame every second or possibly faster. I love driving along in the car.. setting it up at 1 frame every 8 or 16f... and even 1 ever second and it looks like every techno video I've ever seen...

When I did a 80 minute timelapse I did 1 frame every 10 seconds and it looked awesome... I hope this helps..

BTW.. Beautiful footage bro and I appreciate the hook up. I'd love to go out to Seattle again though so hook a bro up if ya need another 2 cameras. I'd be totally interested in helping to shoot any snowboarding stuff. Been boarding since 88.... but now I'm in FLordia and only get to go maybe once a year in NH....

Let me know if this made sense... So far the videocam has only been used for this timelapse option. I like being able to record in the native options with variable framerates. The videocam is cool though that it has the more familar controls that i've used to with a vid cam..

Once again.. fantastic footage bro! This cam is friggin kicking arse and taking names. I've become so militant about it.. Fun to mock the Canon and JVC since they have nothing nearly as cool going on...

I live in Clermont, FL which is about 30 minutes west of Orlando (just take HWY 50/Colonial). I can help you out. I am on Windows machines over here. I am using the Raylight plugin inside of Premiere. I am not sure if DVCPRO-HD is one of my export codec options or not. I do know that I have both the Avid DV100 and Avid DNxHD Quicktime codecs. I beleive the Avid DV100 and the DVCPRO-HD codecs are basically the same thing. I just purchased a new computer and a Dell 30" monitor. All of that should be here in a about a week. So, until then my office is all out-of-wack, while I move things around to prepare for the new setup. But once I am up and going, if you want, you can convert your files over here. Shoot me an email if you are interested... info@mclindigital.com
