Does anyone have a PDF of the user manual for After Effects 6.5? I haven't been able to find it anywhere online.

I haven't bought it yet :) I've been considering getting After Effects for a while, but haven't really had a need for it. I figure by reading the full manual, I can get a better idea what to expect from it than I can by asking 900 questions of others on the forum. Besides, there doesn't seem to be a demo available anywhere anymore.

I can find lots of info on the new version of After Effects, but because I refuse to buy software that utilizes Product Activation, the latest version I can buy is 6.5.

You might want to try this and see if you can get a demo of 6.5:

I don't know if they will still send you the 6.5 still instead of 7.0, but it is worth a shot.

Or just goto Adobe's page and download a demo of the 7.0 one.

Is there a reason you want 6.5 over 7.0?

Ya..I would say because it's pirated software.:)

Upon re-reading my posts, I suppose I can see how you'd reach that conclution. But I assure you, I possess no pirated copies of After Effects, nor do I intend to aquire one. I simply do not want to support any software that uses Product Activation, as After Effects 7 does. So I plan to buy 6.5 on ebay, once I can confirm that it will do everything I'd like it to do. The best way to do this is either with a demo version, or by reading the full manual.

I am not worried about the product activation myself. People made a big deal about it when Microsoft did it with Win XP and I have not had any problems with having to re-activate or anything even after several upgrades to my system. It really is not a big deal, with me at least. :)

I just bought AF 7.0 Pro and just waiting for it to arrive on my door step. It will be my first time ever using AF, but I am willing and able to learn. :) I have heard and read enough about AF now it is time to get my feet wet.

Good Luck to you in whatever you decide to do, AF 6.5 or 7.0.
