Anyone know how to do this? I really need to clean up some footage.

I've never been a fan of the results you get when sharpening footage, but if I had to I would do it in AE. I've never tried with FCP.
How bad is the footage?
Do you have a high pass filter in FCP? If so, duplicate your footage, apply the high pass filter, blur it to remove fine detail and then change the blending mode to overlay. That will selectively sharpen the major edges and usually works better than a straight out sharpening filter.

The footage isn't horrible or anything but I would like to sharpen some sections of it.
Shaw, I'm not sure but are you talking PC lingo? lol, I'll look into FCP in about two hrs from now to try to follow your steps. I'll let you know how it goes.
Anyone else with any input?
