View Full Version : Why not a GG adapter for HD100 DIRECT to the bayonet/adapter mount?

I haven't been keeping up on the HD100 here on the site, but am now reconsidering this camera for its removable lens. Doesn't someone make a 1/3" lens adapter to some other kind of lens mount? Then, couldn't you use that mount to mount a high quality still macro lens or specialized achromatic diopter lens thingy so that you could mount a GG adapter to be more DIRECTLY imaged by a piece of glass DESIGNED to resolve a MACRO image in the first place? You know, instead of going through all that sub-standard glass in the stock lens? I mean, since the JVC has the benefit of a removable lens and a somewhat "standard" bayonet mount, wouldn't this be the "best" way to mount a GG adapter to a camera such as this?

NBC Shooter- We use the standard JVC 1/3" to 1/2 " converter to accommodate all of our lenses at about $700 per. (I'm in the wrong business when a piece of plastic and metal brings $700.) I know I'll get argument about it because everyone has their favorites but we like the look and feel both aesthetically and through the lens of Fujinon but virtually any lens except Sony with their own system works like Panasonic. We use the Fujinon S20.6.4 as a standard lens which gives us exceptionally clear images corner to corner and a good focal length for our camera positions. They replace the stock Fujinon lenses that people don't like but we don't find as bad as their reputations. Doubtless the new glass is far superior especially when you compare them side by side but alone the stock Fuji lens isn't that bad. Our chief concern was the focal length on zoom didn't give us quite the reach we liked or needed and in the other direction, it was way too narrow. The "S" series (NOT the "A" Series which is 2/3") addresses all these issues and it does so affordablly at about $2000 per lens. http://www.fujinon.co.jp/en/news/010418.htm

P+S Technik makes the HD100 relay lens adapter for the mini35. I guess in theory you could use it on your own GG design. The whole connecting kit costs $2500 US.
