FCP 5 output to DVX

Hey, all - I'm having trouble outputting from FCP 5 on my G5 to tape using my DVX100A.

I'm following all the right steps and the DVX clearly connects with my project on FCP - I can see it on the LCD screen. But almost as soon as the transfer starts the timecode on the DVX stops and the "no tape" symbol flashes.

I've tried manual start (play timeline and press record on the camera) and auto and semi-auto start from FCP - same result no matter what I do. Any ideas?

I have a couple of festivals coming up that require (or prefer) mini DV tape, and I feel like an idiot not being able to accomplish this seemingly simple task.

I've had the same problem. Very weird phenomenon and I've researched it for hours but have not been able to get a solution. In all all honesty, I restart my computer and hope that it works by chance. Everytime it's ever worked, its been a completely random thing.

Thanks - that's very helpful and disheartening at the same time! Strange because DVX and FCP are supposed to be so compatible. I'll give the random re-start a try.
