Dose any one know or have they heard what's new for Final Cut Pro for 2006. Anyone have an idea of what's coming up for this software at the NAB?:)

FCP5 is out right now, Im running it, you mean FCP6. Everything is speculation they havent released a word.

The rumors I have heard are this:
More intergration between all the Studio Apps, particaularly Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Support.
Supprt for all the new Pro HD / DVCPRO HD / CANON HD Formats.
I am hoping for more color correction options.
And yes, this refers to Final Cut Pro 6.

Yes I understand it will probably be called Final Cut Pro 6 or 5.5 or what ever, I was just curious as to what might be next. I just bought a GY-HD 100u and I was hoping the new software will edit in 24p instead of 30p.

JVC as said that in the next Apple and Avid releases of their respective software, HDV/24P will be an option.

So, I should wait until April before I buy the studio, or should I get it now and pay what? $100 more for FCS 6?

The upgrade from Studio 5 - 6 will probably be more than $100, most like $300-400. Remember, they are upgrading four main Apps at once, not to mention Compressor and Cinema Tools. Who knows, maybe we will get a new program this year.
