I'm having a problem removing pulldown when trying to capture a full 1 hour tape all at once. I shot in 24pa, and in FCP went to easy setup and chose the appropriate setting for the sequence and capture settings.
If I capture a 5 minute clip, theres no problem. It shows up as 23.97 fps in the properties menu or whatever in the browser. I can pull it into my 23.97 sequence without a problem. However, I have been trying to capture a full tape all at once for time saving purposes and partly due to the content of the tape. The problem is, whenever I leave it capturing the whole tape, I get back and stop the capturing process, and then the clip shows up as 29.97 in the browser. It requires rendering when dropped into my 23.97 timeline (I'm assuming because the pulldown really wasnt removed).
This is really bothering me because I can't come up with a logical reason why it would be doing this. What could be the difference in capturing a 5 minute section of tape vs the whole thing? Why would it decide not to remove pulldown when doing the whole thing? I know there are a few timecode breaks in the tape, could this be causing the problem?
Any ideas or solutions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks
