I have a question. I'm about to capture 24PA footage at offlineRT Photo Jpeg setting to keep everything on my powerbook. Since its photo jpeg the preset capture it 29.97. How can I edit when pulldown hasnt been taken off? Also, I want to drop the clips into a timeline so that I can add a Tc window burn for translation, but without the pulldown will it be off?

When you capture in FCP, go to the 'Capture Settings' tab and make sure you're on DV NTSC 48 kHz Advanced (2:3:3:2) Pulldown Removable.
Even in offlineRT photo Jpeg, it should remove the pulldown for you, just make sure you are editing on a 23.98 timeline. You can always check by right clicking / checking properties of the captured clips and checking out the frame rates, they should be 23.98, not 29.97.
I've personally never tried this, but try capturing like 10 mins of footage as offline RT Photo Jpeg with the advanced pulldown. Edit it on a timeline, online the footage (since it's only a small amount of footage, it should fit on your powebook). See how everything comes out before going through the process with all your footage.
