I'm starting to edit with the JVC HD100U and the files are kinda large. Does anybody have a suggestion for some sort of external raid setup? I'm not about to buy an xserve raid with fibre channel, a little out of my league.
Saw this on line: G-Technology G-SATA 1TB - 1000GB 2-Drive External SATA Hard Drive Array with Cooling Fan - 7200 RPM
Any opinions?

I do like this raid I have used it befor it worked well for an singal machine system. But now I have two Xraids and there is no subsatutes. I do know it is a little pricey. But for how fast it is. And once you make the big investment it is cheep to upgrade. And FCP works so good with it. But FCP will work good with any Raid. Get that one and one day upgrade to an Xraid

There is a thread in here started by Rush talking about a pretty good ideo for a DIY RAID setup. Lacie just anounced a new two bay SATA drive as well (1T and SATA card for 950)

There's a lot of chatter in the FX/broadcast design biz now about power supply problems in the big LaCie drives. Apparently, the PS gradually loses juice, causing intermittent drive failures and data loss.
There are a couple of DIY Raid solutions that work pretty well.
