I just loaded some footage into FCP that was shot on my hvx200 (720/24PN).

First off, the codec that I chose (DVCPro HD 720P/24) wasn't being recognized by camera via firewire. Here is the message that I recieve when I try to open FCP:

"Unable to locate the following external devices DVCPro HD (720p60) (1280 x 720) DVCPro HD Out...system configuration may have changed, or your deck may be disconnected, blah, blah, blah". Why am I receiving this message?

Question 2.
Can we monitor footage shot at 720/24PN without a blackmagic card or AJA card?

I'm pretty sure you can't use the camera as a pass through device. You need an AJA or Decklink or kona card.

well if you have an apple 23" hd flat panel hooked up or another HD monitor then yes. But if you do not you need an AJA of Decklink card

You can pick up the dell 24" and use the component feed to monitor the 720p footage or 1080i/p footage. It's $799 right now.
