It says the file transfer is unavailable. Is everyone else able to view it?

I just checked, says same to me.

I downloaded it before, so I guess it went away, if he doesn't put it back up, maybe I can send it to you or something.

Oh Oh...well I guess www.yousendit.com (http://www.yousendit.com/) is only good for a few downloads. I am going to ask stephenlnoe (http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/member.php?u=5551) to host it for me.

I have posted a lot a lot of detail with my experience with HD with weddings under the thread weddings in the HD100 forum.

Hopefully this clip will be available again. I shot it the same day I took my HD100 out of the box. I feel that I can create depth of field effects previously seen with the mini35 (I know big statement but my limited opinion) by tripoding really far away from the subject at almost maximum zoom.

I know not practical but so isn't the price of a mini35 :^) at my level. The point is, it is possible.

My experience with HD is great. HDV causes weird motion blur and distortions when dealing with any sudden drastic change of imaging information. But it is a worthwhile trade off considering the increase in overall imaging resolution. Keep in mind that all HDV cams output full HD without HDV type compression out of the analog component outs. All HDV cams can record standard DV as well.

In my wedding video business people are so wowed by the overall resolution that they don't seem to notice the compression artifacts. I have also become more vigilant in creating stable clean composed shots. Where I might of thought of holding the cam in my hands I at least use a monopod or my shoulder (last resort). If you are a run and gun handheld wildman then HDV is not for you especially the HD100 because it doesn’t have image stabilization.

Having said that I would not recommend anyone buy DV at all.

They don't compare at all. It looks crappy trying to integrate DV into HD don't do it.

Now, All of these HDV cams when going out the analog component ports bypasses the HDV compression and suddenly you have full HD from a $4,000.00 cam. The trick is how do you capture analog outs.

Hopefully someone will invent an portable HD capturing system.

For corporate gigs (anything studio based or planned event) I am thinking about going the route of using the V440HD http://www.edirol.com/edirol.html (http://www.edirol.com/edirol.html) and either a HD tape deck http://catalog2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ModelDetail?displayTab=O&storeId=11201&catalogId=13051&itemId=70438&catGroupId=15767&modelNo=AJ-HD1200A&surfModel=AJ-HD1200A (http://catalog2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ModelDetail?displayTab=O&storeId=11201&catalogId=13051&itemId=70438&catGroupId=15767&modelNo=AJ-HD1200A&surfModel=AJ-HD1200A)

or a HD capturing computer like http://www.wafian.com/ (http://www.wafian.com/) but more than likely try to build one myself with a black magic decklink capture card.

I am testing the V440 HD right now and its great.

For planned production the native output without the HDV compression looks like it should a great HD image without any monkey business. Switching live bypasses the render times created by the huge file sizes. The HD100 and Sony can record HDV simultaneously so you can patch mistakes with HDV source tapes later.

I edit on Vegas it is simply the most powerful for ease of use buck. In the Wedding thread I posted that render times was killing me. Please bear-in-mind that I am like you still learning and trying to keep my ship a float that's why i am a member here so I can learn.

I recently discovered that while rendering my cpu usage would oscillate 90% ,5%, 90 %, 5% which means virtual memory problems. I discovered yesterday that my Dynamic ram preview was to high (750MB) I reduced it to 40 MB through trial and error and suddenly I was able to get a steady 100% cpu usage which of course boosted my rending times significantly. Moral of the story I need more RAM. Before that I had DMA/PIO problems. This is why the http://www.wafian.com/ (http://www.wafian.com/) is looking good. let some else perfect and optimize the PC. I fixed this yesterday so I am not quite sure how much this discovery for me has helped.

If your using Vegas you definitely need the connectHD plug while converts the HDV/M2T files to AVI upon capture. I framed based AVI files are much easier to work with than GOP compressed files for your NLE.

Overall it is a bumpy road of adventure going with HD but the output is worth the seasickness.

What did you think of the depth of feild shots especially with the pink flower filmaker?

looked real crisp.
