I was perusing things DVX, when I noted that I was missing about 70 posts. This is no problem, since I am approaching my 1000 mark entirely too quickly--but it merits investigation.

Now, either someone really doesn't like what I say (besides my wife) or a massive thread was deleted. Behold. The AVS thread seems to be missing. This is the thread for those ordering their HVX from Barb at AVS.

What happened? I feel like I woke up to find I never really existed--whole swaths of my life and memory are gone! I've found myself living It's a Wonderful Life. (By the way, can anyone see this thread? Hello? I just flamed John Hudson and nothing happened. My goodness, I think I'm dead. Tiny Tim, I'm SOO SORRRY!)

Your thread had about fifty pages and was mostly cluttering up the HVX section. Don't take it personally, the J-man was just doing some housecleaning.

Actually, the AVS "tread" was more of a mini forum within a forum. Can't blame y'all. It was a gathering place--for troubled souls awaiting their HVXs--whose time had come.

I'm curious, though, why not just lock it out like most threads whose time had outpaced their usefulness? If it was the incorrect information, what was the nature of that information? There was not much by way of technical or product information, as I recall.

Just asking because I feel like I am getting the culture of DVXuser, but I don't want to be mistaken and violate it. I really want to contribute to it.

My bad, not incorrect information, I was thinking of a different thread. I didn't nuke it, but I think it just outgrew its usefulness and was getting long in the tooth. About fifty pages too long in the tooth.

Thanks Isaac.
