Hi, I was just talking about the RED with my brother today and I thought about the past attempts at a high-end uncompressed 4K or some other high resolution camera. I remember other projects like The Drake and the Kinetta but I haven't heard anything else about them. What happened with them? Where'd they go? Might the RED end up the same? I hope not, but I'm just wondering what you guys think and what happened to the other projects.

Yeah, I had high hopes for the Kinetta. Looked very promising. Kind of faded away, huh?
Gut feeling tells me RED is more than just vaporware.

Waiting for imagers, as far as I know.
I suppose that's the danger in basing a product off another companies product...they get pushed back, you get pushed back.
The Kinetta was never slated to do 4K resolution though - as far as I know.
