Loveland, Fort Collins, Longmont, Denver and metro area. What are you using your DVX for?

I'm in Colorado Springs. I use my DVX100 (original) for mainly hobby stuff. Right now I am cutting together a short music video for my brother's band, but it's mostly live footage, and I only shot about 20 mins. Kinda hard to put something interesting together, make it look like a multi-cam shoot, etc. I wiill try to post a version online to view.

I am searching for other DVXUser.com members in Colorado, in hopes of generating some contacts, inspiration, networking, etc.

Was reading the posts regarding the NYC meet that's happening on March 12th, and thought that it would be cool to start up something similar for Colorado. Less people here, though, so I'm not too sure of its probability.

Thoughts?

I would like to see that, NY and LA and other hotspots are fortunate in that there are a number of DVX users and/or cinematographer types to gleen inspiration from. It's tough enough that all the great shows are East or West with little to nothing in between. I would very much like to get some networking established to assist the videography society out here. Non-DVX users as well. Do you have any ideas where we might post to try to wrangle that up? Craigslist?

I hear that Toddgeer. Not much going on here in Denver! I would like to be included in that list if possible. I just got my DVX100b a few days ago and I'm trying to catch up to all the resources posted here. Email: Steja09@aol.com

Thanks!

Not much going on here in Denver!?!?!?

Don't believe that for a second! :) You just need to know where to look. I just attended the Colorado Actors and Screenwriter's Assembly today, and there were multiple announcements for all kinds of projects that are happening in Denver. There's Group 101, The Emerging Filmmaker's Project at the Bug Theatre, "Dropframe" on KBDI Channel 12, etc. Plenty of places to show your work or network with other like-minded individuals.

I'm a DP and I'm in the middle of shooting a short with over 20 locations. In addition I'm gearing up for at least two full features (maybe more). I know of quite a few other things that are either happening now or "coming soon". It seems like local filmmaking activity is really taking off.

KHendrix2,
I meant in relation to places like New York and L.A. It's not like we have tons of films being produced in Denver in comparison to other places. Wish we had more things happening in that sense.
