Hi,
I just finished further testing an HVX200 with the BTLH1700W monitor. I have to say I love the camera...however it takes a bit of work to get the cleanest image possible.
When Shooting 720P/60 in lower light (a dim room), the noise is much less noticeable than 720P/24 or 720P/30 or the native modes...interesting, huh!? This is regardless of what gamma setting the camera is set to. Cinelike-D gives the most latitude, but seems to be the noisiest.
The noise / framerate issue is further illustrated when I change the rec mode to 720P/60 and then change the framerates via the "joystick" keypad. 24 and 30 FPS are definitely noisier than 60.
Has anyone else found this? Or can anyone else try this to determine if this is found on all HVXs?
This is not meant as a bash of the camera. I have been blown away on the capabilities of the camera and image (viewing on my 42" Panasonic HD Pro Plasma) at home. I love the instant access of P2 and the immediate playback function of shooting slowmo!
I'm merely posting to help us all get the most out of the camera!
Cheers,
Brian Broz
