Scneider Tru Pol - Linear or Circular

I'm about ready to put in an order for a 4x4 polarizer to coincide with a new mattebox. Schneider's Tru Pol seems to score quite well but I'm unsure of which version to get, the Linear or the Circular. For the HVX the linear one should be the right one?

I am new to buying filters (I have a 3D animation background, not a Film background). I bought a Tiffen circular polarizer (4x4). Should I have gotten the linear instead then?
