Nice shot.
What were your camera settings?
What did you have to do to accomplish this take?
Any complication? Anything that you would do different next time?
Please share your experience with those, that was good looking spot... and would like to know what took to make it happen.

The spot looks great. I've seen this clip before. Did you offer it to your client as stock footage or did you shoot this for the client in the beginning? Nice fonts, too. What program did you do them in?

My fellows, unfortunately I can't answer your questions. As I said before including to the people that has been PM me, I wasn't the HVX shooter.

Wasn't this clip used to show the difference between doing slow motion in a NLE vs doing slow motion using variable frame rates? Didn't we discover that slow motion done in the editing system adds a bit of blur vs shooting in variable frame rates which looked cleaner (frame by frame)? I thought that's what this clip (of the pennies) was once used for. I could be wrong. It looks good either way.

There seems to be blur between each frame. Was this shot using variable frame rates with the HVX (just curious)?

Sorry but I can't confirm.
BTW your noiseless tests, how are they?
Are you trying these settings:

Or the info available in this thread where yourself posted?

Emanuel,
I will do more noise testing this weekend. I will try different settings, but the biggest thing I will try is shooting in 1080 to clear up the noise. I also hope to try out the HVX200 with my Merlin. I doubt my Merlin skills will be good enough to post anywhere, but it will be a good learning experience. I am still waiting for my 2 8GB cards. They would make testing much easier with more record time.
It may be silly for me to want a noiseless picture with this under $10,000 HD camera, but I will try anyway.
It's a very cool camera. I'm always amazed when I bring the footage in to Final Cut Pro and it looks so film like. Do you have one yet? I'm not sure if you shot the penny footage or if you are posting it for someone else (forgive me if I missed reading about that).

Emanuel (...) HVX200 (...) Do you have one yet?Not yet. I'm in Europe and I haven't yet my decision taken.
I'm not sure if you shot the penny footage or if you are posting it for someone else (forgive me if I missed reading about that). There is available around there allover the internet where you are registered as your own name if I'm not wrong. Yours is Jay, isn't it? :)
I also hope to try out the HVX200 with my Merlin.Be careful with the motion where the performance of the DVCPRO-HD codec can mask the noise! If you will go for static shots there will be possible to test it with more accuracy. And I can tell you that I and many others, we are trying to test the camera limits in order to understand its potential to the different markets where we involved. For example, my aim is the film-out goal and the doc work, where I need different tools. Since a long time ago that an unbiased POV -- despite your pride as HVX owner, it has been asked to test it before its arrival to our markets. There are decisions to make that can't wait and your efforts there will be so much relevant to this community in general. To some of us, in particular. Who is waiting for results like that ones you can achieve. If it's possible to figure out from your recent posts and your very useful user reports. Thank you.

The cool thing is that there are people that will pay uo to 25K for a commercial like that.
That must be the cheapest commercial of history. But good nonetheless!

Stephen,
I liked the parody. So was that shot with the HVX200 or the JVC? Either way, it looks good. It would be even funnier if the pennies filled the entire screen at the end. Maybe I will do a parody of the parody.
If this was shot with the HVX200 in 60p and the slow motion wasn't added in post, why are the frames blurry? Did you shoot using a slow shutter speed or did you use a different camera?
The other thing I notice from these web clips is that all of these cameras have a similar look (if this is not the HVX200). It's hard to tell a big difference when shooting videos for the web. Do you guys feel the same way?

Hi,
It's shot on a JVC HD-100 (the HD-100 does 60p as well) using the macro feature of the lens. That's why things look soft. The focus plane is razor thin whe using the macro lens. I should have focused in the regular fasion but I was monkeying with the macro on some flowers and had a glass sitting there that looked like the other guys glass.
A parody of the Parody, Hmnnn.... That's a great idea. Can you imagine doing a parody of a Mel Brooks film? That would be over the top!

Stephen, as always, your footage is the winner. I just don't know if it's the trousers or the shooter?!... :D

The HD100 does 60p but let's be clear, that's only in standard-def. You have to digitally scale it to get high-def res from it.

Yes you are correct when shooting to tape but don't forget about that 720p60 coming out the component jacks. The HD-100 does both SD and HD 60p if you want it.

Ah yes. And 48 as well (48 over 60).
