Are there any meetings in the Toronto/Hamilton area? If yes, when do they meet. Thanks.

Hey Pickering here, but close enough to Toronto. Are we all the Torontonians out there on this board?

Hi guys,

there used to be DVXUser meetings organized by Peter (last name?), but he seems to have disappeared from the board.

I'd be perfectly willing to take over, but the meetings would have to be Fridays or weekends (my work schedule pretty much prevents me from doing anything Mon-Thu).

Let me know if anyone is interested (PM me if you'd like). I think we SHOULD meet. There is a number of DVX users in Toronto, and we already have some HVX users as well - I think it would be a wonderful networking and learning opportunity for all of us.

If there is enough interest (at least ten people), I'll try to get a regular meeting going at least quarterly.

Cheers, and hope I hear from someone!

I have an HVX and could meet in TO.Hey Bob, how about a HVX workshop? We could use yours and mine (master/slave, scene file swap, that sort of thing). PM me if you are interested.

For everyone else - is a Toronto DVX/HVX user group that uninteresting? I thought we'd get at least 15 people... c'mon T.O.!

I'd be interested in meeting up. Not a HVX owner yet, but I may be one soon.

I'd be interested. DVX user here, pretty new to it actually and it'd be cool to meet up with other film makers.

Heh, notice how we'd all be in for a meeting yet none of us are actually doing anything about it? Lazy bunch I suppose we are. We need someone to take charge (not volunteering myself! as I don't know enough about this yet to do so). Let's get something going here.

Hey all,

If you're in need of space who ever decides to volunteer to run this thing PM me and I'll get you connected with Ryerson for a room.

They let us use a room at the Rogers Communications Centre for the Toronto FCP User Group.

(Bob you have to update me on Superman Returns)

Cheers,

Tim

Well, I cant wait to see the movie. I've never used Shake before but seems like an awesome program.

So does this mean we will be seeing some video tutorials by you for Shake 4?
Since you taught me Maya already, might as well teach me Shake too.

Hey all, toronto-ite here who's looking into shooting an indie feature next year on an HVX. If you guys do decide to have a meet up I would be very interested in attending, but I wouldn't want to be a 5th wheel (or 15th wheel) as I don't own either an HVX or DVX and wouldn't want to be the one pestering you with questions if you guys just wanted to meet as DVX/HVX owners to share and learn.

It looks like a lot of us are interested in meeting up. Why don't we set something up within the next few weeks. I vote for a location along the subway line, but close the the highway for those coming from out of town. Thursdays work best for me.

What are people's thoughts....

Cheers eh..

How about this Thursday at the Bull and Firkin Pub near Yonge and Davisville (if people are not opposed to beer!). We could meet at 6-7 pm. They have pool, darts, and tables to sit around and talk all things dv/hd.
