Here's a couple clips of shooting out in the woods today. The clips were either shot with the 180 shutter or 1/1000. The slow sound was added in FCP.

Very pretty indeed! Thanks for posting that. I am now salivating all the more for my HVX that I know is coming in this week. (The delivery truck with my HVX has been shot in 60fps and slowed to 24.)
You oughta find someone who can aim, though--he took an awful lot of shots just to hit two grape soda cans. Sheesh. :D

Hey Drew, I was checking out your website and came across that time-lapse footage.
It looks real good.
My question is, how did you do it with a Canon D20 still camera?
Was it fed into a laptop?
How many still fps were you shooting?
My friend has that camera and we're baffled on how you did it.

You're right... I'd like to see him get shot too. ;)
Anyway, if I ever get my hands on on a P2 card, I'll have to blow something up for my slow-mo test. hahahahahaaaa

I'm trainning for a job to take out the head grape soda. I had to go through a couple of his minions to find where he's at.
I'm glad you guys liked it.
Mcgeedigital, I love shooting the SU-16A. I did get some footage of the Glock being fired but the .223 footage is what looked really good.
BillP, I take about 300 or so pictures and have them as single frames in FCP. When it plays it works like animation. Do a search in my posts with the 20D. I go into detail on how to do this.

Drew,
The #1 reason for having a gun is to shoot the #### out of stuff!!! :)
I'd like to see your clip, but my STUPID PC can't play it; all I get is an error message and the software locks up. Please, Please, Please convert the file to AVI or WM9; even a small 320x240 MPEG-I would work. I'd love to see your clip.
FYI: Try shooting a plastic soda bottle filled with water and leave the cap off. Eggs can be fun too and then I have a friend who says a can of Beens can be great. Guns and slow motion video, it can't get any better than this can it?

Mcgeedigital, dude that binary compound is something else. I'm really surprised that you can buy that stuff online. It would look cool to have some footage of that.
BobDiaz, I'll see what I can do. I don't have anything to encode WM9 with. You should be able to go to Apple's website and download the Quicktime 7 player for free. If someone else wants to convert it to WM9, be my guest.

very cool. I plan on taking my HVX when it comes out with us shooting. Have an AR15 and an SKS that I would like to try. Also budy has a full auto 9mm Iuzi. So that should be fun. And I hate grape soda as well J/K

No, I have not seen it. While I could use upgrade the software on my system, I don't do that sort of thing during the school semester, because one screw-up and my system is down for a while. I can't afford the number of hours to re-load all the software I use. During the semester, I put in 60+ hour weeks, most of it creating materials for class on the computer. During summer and winter breaks, I can kick back and do all the other things I wanted to do...
It's too bad I have to work on Saturdays right now, because I'd like to tag along with you to help shoot stuff using a video camera and a gun. :) I have a 357 magnum and I'm sure we could get some great shots with that.

That is an impressive carbine. Do you like it? Recommend? How's the ammo? Is it possible to lock the stock in the bent position making it unusable? I will put it in a gun safe, but also need to have it locked out.
I was looking into the Storm, but also have been really impressed with a 200 dollar cheapy.. the name escapes me, but I have a few friends who have the rifle.
Thanks
Drew599

Justyn, the rifle is a SU-16A and the company is called Kel-Tec that makes it. Here's a link to their site.
http://www.kel-tec.com/index.htm
I haven't had a chance to really fire a lot of rifles but I can tell you from going out shooting with this one that I love it. The scope that I put on it is a little cheapy scope that cost only $44. But I can easly hit stuff out past 200 yards. It does fold in half and when its folded its unusable. The A model runs about a little over $530 and the ammo for it is cheap as well.

I checked them out before. They are only about 40 minutes away in cocoa. I'll do a recon mission and see what I can report. Maybe they have a shooting range on site.
I can then take the surfboard and pretend to know what I"m doing... Maybe combine it with a little skeet shooting.

so yeah.....guns.
um....in england you can get five years for carrying a knife over 3"
I'm pretty sure If the ARMED police (there aren't a lot) shoot anyone they instantly get suspended and investigated.
our soldiers use very sharp pencils.
I quite like it to be honest.

nice footage,
we dont have any guns to film in AU or UK...
having said that, we dont have the HVX either.

Mavoz and Adam, sorry to hear that you guys don't have HVXs or guns in your countries. Hopefully soon you'll have the HVX problem sloved.
I'm glad that I live in the US. It may have its problems but at least I can go out into the woods and shoot guns if I want. Glad you guys liked the footage.

You guys really screwed up on your guns rights. A government that doesn't trust their citizens with guns can't be trusted.

We still have a few guns..just more the pea shooter variety these days and you've got to have a good reason for the thing ..the ability to film some cool footage with your shiny new HVX 200 probably doesn't cut it...
(Some guy went nuts back in '96 at Port Arthur and murdered 35 people + many wounded....since then the powers that be weren't real keen on having citizens roaming the streets armed to the teeth like Rambo.....)
So us Aussies now get to live longer...tourists are safer....our politicians don't tend to shoot people....and we get to film Kangaroos and stuff in peace....come and visit us down here! (Just throw a few extra HVX's in your case while you're at it

Well if that were here in the states.. the old woman would have took him out well before he got a round chambered. We have the right to blow shit up.. and we aren't descendents from convicts... oopss... JK.

lol
no convict blood in these veins mate....just pure Deutsch pioneer...the convicts needed a few of us to get the place organised;)
Tell you one thing though...since reading this thread and remembering Port Arthur and the way it changed our gun laws... I discovered we got our own version of JFK conspiracy on the whole event..'Bryant' with little experience and an IQ of 66..killed 19 people with headshots from the hip in 90 seconds + stopped a moving car and killed occupants with three shots only...all a bit professional combat shooter like....etc. etc. do a google search...
the stuff you get inspired to discover whilst checking out footage on dvxuser...
Anyone want to help do a HVX conspiracy doco?? Just bring your camera down under...(and remember to check over your shoulder).
