Only grab I have right now. Just a little CC but not much.

I was in the middle of a smoke and saw this guy so I didn't have any time to mess with the settings or get any kind of white balance. Luckily things turned out ok with the settings I had.
However, I'm not happy at all with the artifacting in the flowers. Anyone know what the reason for that is?

I believe the reason, the flowers appear the way they do, is video cameras do not handle the color red so well and the small details in the flowers results in what you see. I have heard that turning the verticle detail to low, and lowering the red saturation bar a knotch or two can help lessen this effect or eliminate it.

This effect on red was very apparent on my XL2 but it helped a lot with v-detail on low and low red saturation. actually i had a bad experience shooting a live concert that had a red curtain behind the band. this was before i figured out ways to make it less apparent but needless to say, all the footage was garbage. but i love the colors this scene. very nice.

i Believe the red lines or artificats are caused because of the 4:1:1 sampling on DV. When there is an extremley fine gradient of a color (especially red becasue it is Part of the color mode RGB) the 4:1:1 sampling gets messed up. It is especailly aparent when your saturation is above legal NTSC limits.

Yea I figured it was the red issue DV has, just wasn't sure if there could be anything else. I'm going to have to mess with the v-detail and lower the red sat. I'm still getting the hang of this camera but things are turning out great.
Thanks everyone.
