I did a search on this, and was suprised that I didn't find anything. Here's my question:

I shoot camera raw with my Canon 10D at 6.3 megapixels. So far, I have been opening that RAW image into photoshop using Adobe Bridge, editing using the Adobe camera raw editor, and then printing it at 10x6.667 inches, 300dpi. Is there any way to get an 8x10 image size without cropping my pictures? I am pretty happy with the quality of my prints, but for some reason I can't get an 8x10 without cropping my pictures, because when I use the image resize, and put 8 inches for a width, it wants to make it 12'' tall...Any help would be awsome, thanks!

Your camera's native aspect ratio is different than that of an 8x10.. so the short answer, is no. You'll have to crop your photo down to fit an 8x10 frame. That's pretty common.

So other than that I am doing pretty ok with the work flow? I am using Epson Matte Heavyweight, and also Ilford matte paper for most of the photos. It's nothing really critical or anything, but I do want it to look good...

Yeah it's a pretty common occurance, and your workflow is pretty similar to mine...

Not sure if you'll be able to get to it without signing up. If so, join and follow the link to articles by Jim Tweedie.
Read the article about RAW vs JPEG Cost analysist. Very interesting reading.....

BTW - doesn't really answer your original post - just interesting reading about raw vs jpeg shooting....

Another totally unrelated but interesting read.... of course totally contridicting the above article....
