Go ahead and let me have it.
There was supposed to be an entire infomercial wrapped around this commercial but it ended up being like 9 minutes. There was no way to cut it down to 6 minutes in the time we had left. So, instead of submitting nothing we decided to just submit the commercial portion.
But seriously, don't you wish you had one of these things?

haha, clever.
I would say that you really have to ramp up the comedy, infomercials are inherently annoying, so unless it's hilarious, that's what you are left with. You're really working on an uphill platform.
I do kinda wish i had one though.
As a suggestion on quality, I would try to blend/soften your masks a little better.

Where do I get one of these? The 800 number didn't work. Hahahaha http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/images/smilies/grin.gifhttp://www.dvxuser.com/V6/images/smilies/grin.gif Very clever.http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/images/smilies/beer.gif
It was kinda funny, especially the part with the baby.
I think the list of of "things you can use the iMute on" went on too long, and that really almost killed it. Some of them were funny, but you really gotta trim the list down to the really good ones.
But, it tickled me a little, so I'm not gonna complain.

Stupid infomercial - BE MORE FUNNY!
Thanks for taking the time to give me some feedback.

I totally agree about the list. My son did the voice for this thing and we just got a little carried away. Ok, a lot carried away.

I liked the "do not use the Imute on" list best. Those were all great choices.

Hey, what was that between pigs and trains, didn't see it in the list but it sounded like beavers??
I'll order one!

Sign me up. I'd like to own one if possible. But seriously, your short was pretty funny. The effects didn't blow me away but they did exactly what they needed to for the infomercial.
A constant Home shopping network ticker or something would have been a nice addition too. Thanks for submiting.

Nice short. I'm not a fan of commercials but I like what you're selling.
It had plenty of funny bits. I'd love to see a short based around a guy who just purchased an iMute and it starts to act up and go crazy. That could be fun too.
Looked very commercial. The effeects worked well with the subject too. Thanks.
I think the list being that long is fine as long you gradually speed it up until they almost blend. By then, the viewer would get the gist anyway.
I like the selection of colors.

I had a hard time getting into this, as it wasn't a short film ... no story, nothing. Just an advertisement for a Sci-Fi product.
That said, I liked the muting effect, and LOVED the look of the annoying driver that pulled up ... that was classic. The list did get long, but some funny choices.

I thought it was funny... and annoying, which is what infomercials are ;)
But I must know... Squirrels? Is is the power of Foamy that keeps them immune?

I like your idea!
We have a fairly funny infomercial show that wraps around this bit but it was too long to submit. It had a nice little scene where a guy mutes his mother-in-law. I'm sure some of us can relate to that.

I totally understand. We wanted to do something completely different. Looking forward to the next fest so we can hopefully do a better job. Thanks for the comments.
By the way, the annoying driver was played by my son and I can tell you it wasn't much of a stretch for him.

They aren't immune - we are just warned to not use the iMute on them. Who knows why - maybe they freak out or something. Everything seems funny when it's late and you are sleepy.

My critque.
Editing and camerawork were a but lazy in spots. It's a commerical. and a spoof at that...you needed more whiz-bang....Maybe even a couple of snap zooms. More pep in the edititing. Overall more exciting.
The visuals didn't match the VO...which I liked.
Your quad screen shot help for way to long.
My 2 cents.

Funny little spot. I think you really nailed the look that
you were going for. You had an interesting premise, and
the sense of humor to back it up.
I would've liked for the iMUTE commercial itself
to have ended a little earlier, so that you could've
"changed the channel" and shown another late-night
gem. I think you could have gone with a Kentucky
Fried Movie shtick.
Once again...funny stuff. I found myself Ling O L.

Ok... one of the final shorts I have yet to comment on. I found this really funny. I would have tried to use more footage, and make it a little snazzier, and quicker. Funny idea. Cute commercial.

Hard to judge on the technicla issues given what you were going for. I do think perhaps you should've gone more over-the-top on the cheesiness. It's hard to top the actual commercials you were parodying. ;)
I enjoyed it. I agree it could've been a bit quicker with the jokes, a little faster paced, but a lot of the jokes that were there were funny. The Do Not Use list was definitely the highlight, I think.
Fun stuff, thanks.
Made me laugh. There are soooo many things I could use it on.

I work from home and I have always enjoyed the quiet in my office in the back of my house.
Well, the people behind us have bought a dog and it yaps its freakin head off all day long.
I'm not a violent guy by any stretch but I keep having these fantasies about smacking it in the head with a bat. I would never do it but I sure like thinking about it.
This would be a perfect opportunity to use the iMute. Or a bat.

I liked the concept...but the inherent boringness of an informecial may have been too much to overcome with the comedy you employed. I will admit, I chuckled in a couple of spots...but overall...I found it to be extremely unexciting.

Ouch!
It wouldn't hurt so bad if I didn't agree with you so much. Thanks for the comments, CK.
