Ok, I have been reading all about the magnet flip. And then, when it comes to actually needing to read it, and find where that place is on the DVX, I do a search, and can't find a thing. Can someone either direct me on how to search to find it? I seem to not get a thing, or point me to a link?

Thanks.

Hey xan - If you open the lcd and look at the hinge, the magnet goes on the upper part of the light(er) grey hinge (dvx100a). I found the flip very confusing, it flipped the verticals but not the horizontals (the image is rotated 180 degrees so to view it properly isnt as simple as flipping the verts.) I think the best bet is to save up for an lcd monitor , fit it to camera shoe upside down with an svideo feed coming in from the dvx.

Dude,

Just under the LCD hinge. You gatta have a small and pretty strong magnet. Watch battery worked for me but a hearing aid battery didn't.

To get the other flip fixed go into your cam set-up menu find the flip ouy display (what ever they call it in the menu) and make sure the "mirror" setting is turned off.

There you go. Problem fixed.

and if I remember this correctly, the magnet trick for long periods does not harm anything?

I think the hinge has its own magnet in there anyway to tell when its been flipped.

Anyone been able to get the magnet trick to work with the DVX100B? I can't seem to do it.

Would have been great if Panasonic just let us flip the image, left-right and up-down whenever we want in the menu, not just when the monitor is rotated away from us so we can't see it. Wouldn't have been too hard. Oh well, nothing is pefect is it?
