I read online that the RED camera looks like a miniature DeLorean, complete with flux-capacitor.

I heard it's a casio keyboard - you cup your hands over an opening - it's called an "organic lense" you just widen or make your hands smaller to adjust the exposure. It cuts a couple grand off the cost.
Then ofcourse you can adjust the grain structure with the black keys, the whites are for white balancing, shutter speeds and so forth.
Really ingenious IMO.
