So after having my XL-H1 for a couple days, I can just say that I don't regret the purchase decision one bit. What a great camera!!!! HDV is a great acquisition format for obtaining HD footage with a limited budget ...

I work in Final Cut Pro and thought I'd share a great way to work with the 24F mode till native support comes along in FCP. When you shoot in 24F in HDV, it captures the footage as 24P directly onto the tape without any pulldown added to conform it to any standard. What I do is capture the raw .m2t file using the Apple utility DVHSCap and once you have the .m2t file, use the MPEG Streamclip utility (http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/video/mpegstreamclip.html) to convert the file to a DVCProHD 23.976 file to edit easily in FCP. Hope this helps those looking to use the 24F ability until native support comes around (although I would think that editing the files as DVCProHD would be easier for your computer anyway).

DVCPROHD for me too. I use the Kona card to capture it in through SDI. It may be slight, but I think there's less loss into DV100 this way. Still, it's a good thing MPEG Streamclip performs so admirably. Nice to have free apps that offer a good workaround.
