Good stuff. Quite a relief to see how the codec handles motion. No funky motion artifacting. All smoooooth...

I wish it wasn`t a highly h264 compress file. The original must look fantastic

I figured out how to upload a portion of the QuickTime "wrapped" original file. So here it is (it's 91MB)

Thanks again, Marc, for hosting that file. I just needed to do a little digging with my ISP.

I've never uploaded through my ISP before, so I don't know what to expect.

Wow, I'm sold. What shutter speed was that at? Finally a great cam to do slowmo work with!

The variable frame rate was a huge selling point for me! I shot the water at 1/250th after doing some tests. I like the crispness of the higher shutter speed.

Yeah, I like how every time new footage comes out people are stunned by it, meanwhile over on the news half of the site all I hear is "No HVX, it has no resolution etc." The proof is in the pudding, indeed.

Sorry, I don't have the software for a decent WMV version of the shot. Have you tried installing Quicktime for Windows?

the low res non dvcpro Hd will work using videolan.org vlc client. It what I use. quicktime would work also, but I stay away from Quicktime as much as possible.

KCFilms, I'm a macuser, I really dislike the WMA codec, but still. For the sake of sharing, I thought I'll tell you that flip4mac is free now. You can play/export WMA files directly inside quicktime, no hassle at all. Even works in Safari

I have to say, I too find it all very amusing indeed. The footage keeps coming out proving all that has to happen is to have the right creative person behind the camera and BaAAMMM!, knock out footage.
Keep up the good work folks.

And then again I am not raelly that impressed with all the footage. Maybe it's just me or I am not seeing anything shot really well. The whole slow mo stuff is really cool but it really doesn't jump out like I hoped it would. I was waiting for the DVX experience all over again and it didn't happen. I was hoping to look at this stuff and think VariCam but something is just missing. Granted it's a bid step in the right direction but I am a little disappointed. So if someone would like to change my mind I would love to have it done. Point me in the direction of some really great looking footage. (not compressed for the net please)

(and no, that ain't pudding they're eating!) :)Sorry my friend but you are not the only around here that pushes for our Lady HVX...just for a question of respect regarding you or Jarred's work, I didn't link directly rather your post first:

BTW, I can figure out UtahDPDude's concern...
...specially if the goal it will be a 35mm film-out but not grainy one like Spielberg's Munich (for aesthetics & other reasons) to big screen...
...or even run & gun doc work shooting (like the next samples) not lit properly (nor even with the necessary care for the right settings -- not all cameramen in the field with who a professional director can work at or for a broadcast station, they are so as it would due or we would like to) because that's the way it is (despite the different level of acceptance adressed to the doc work in general).
As well, a 1/3"CCD cam cannot be fairly compared with a 2/3" or a 1/2" CCD cam (different sizes, different qualities, different prices). The matter is to know how to extend the available handheld-form camcorder technology to its limits. And to conquer the last frontier...
...if we can find footage like those above-mentioned or this Steev's one at 2 min.s 37 s. of his video jam clip here (http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=60668) http://x11.putfile.com/2/4423540774.png
...at same time, it's true that it appears other sort of puddings -- I can accept as bad noisy ones but as we can see here:
http://www.noladoc.com/?page_id=10
Regarding the Clean House NO Meeting clip, it's not even the case of web compression:
if the 25Mb HQ windows media 9 file it shows a background noisy
http://www.noladoc.com/?page_id=17
the 177Mb HQ Quicktime H.264 file equals
http://www.noladoc.com/?page_id=19
and the MXF P2 native file is merely 215Mb
http://www.noladoc.com/?page_id=18
Despite your noiseless tip, Barry, that it has been possible to see through yours and other kind of superior footage, I ask if a software like this...
http://www.pluginz.com/product/12124?
...can it work as useful tool?
