some pics of a dolly w/ jib built from the plans in Dan Selakovich's book "Killer Camera Rigs You Can Build Yourself" (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)
total cost was about $180. all parts were from home depot and a sporting goods store (wheels/weights). Took about 2 hours to build.
pictures coming soon...

That looks shockingly familiar! I've built both the jib and dolly from Dan's book. The jib works surprisingly well. I might switch the wheels on the dolly to angle irons, though, so I can offset the wheels.
Anyway, looks cool. Upload some footage when you're done cutting.

Are you hanging your DVX by shoe strings??? Whoa!
Cool setup though.

Yeah, I built Dan's dolly too, but it looks like you've either taped the PVC to the floor or that's just something underneath and you connected the PVC how?
If that is tape holding it down didn't it cause any jitter or bump when you rolled over it?

MacB, bro, be careful. Strictly forbidden to post anything to do with our shorts (including Behind The Scenes) until after voting has at LEAST started ... and possibly after it closes.
I'd reconsider the pics or get Mod approval, just to be safe.

Trust me, I hear you on the excitement end ... just don't want someone to argue & say they recognize the location/scene, etc. Again, just better safe than sorry. Cool pics though, and look forward to seeing more of those soon!
