That's cool. In the past, I've spent some time looking into http://emachineshop.com. A friend who's an engineer had some cautionary words, though:
I have used eMachine, the interface takes a little bit of time to learn and the tutorials are half decent. The problem with eMachine is that there is no real customer support and if a mistake is made - you eat the cost. If you go to a machinist, you might pay about 10-20% more, depending on the exact nature of the piece. In my case, with the prototype molds for my product, the machinist under bid eMachine by about 20%. I'm sure there are plenty of machinists in BK that can take a sketch and make the part for a comparable price. (Although machinists, like mechanics tend to try to rake you over the coals when they think you don't know how much it should cost)
