...but can't get, for one reason or another.
Just spent some time on Amazon, pre-spending my tax refund.
Ordered A Face In The Crowd, which you all probably should, too.
But then I went looking for another film I saw once, years and years ago, which has stuck in my head.
It's available. On VHS. For $245.
Too much, and I want it on DVD, anyway.
Do you have films you just have to have, but can't get easily/reasonably?
Top of my list: Soldier In The Rain (1963, Jackie Gleason, Steve McQueen)

There's a place I go (www.forgottenfilms.biz) that has a lot of stuff you can't get anywhere. But mostly they seem to be semi-ok copies off of TBS/TCM...severe copyright violations, I assume.
But maybe not...the copyright law was wonky until the 70s. A lot of thing slipped through the cracks. (That's why there are multiple vendors putting out the original Night of the Living Dead).
And no one else had the Cary Grant (et al.) version of Alice In Wonderland, so...

I just bough a Brazilian copy of Falstaff (Chimes at Midnight). Next on my list is The Magnificent Ambersons, I have a VHS copy but would like to see it on DVD. I think I will have to get the Brazilian copy again.

I'm with ya. I can't believe that hasn't been released yet.
I'd like to see an american dvd of Fail Safe (the tv version).
Oh, yeah, and a dvd of branagh's hamlet. That's number one on lots of people's list, including mine.
