Does anyone happen to know if there's a software switch that will allow me to record to P2 in DVCPRO 100 while simultaneously outputting DV on the 1394 port? The camera's hardware media switch changes the 1394 output according to the recording format, but it would be great if I could continue using DV Rack (which currently only recognizes DV or HDV) to capture a DV backup to disk while shooting in DVCPRO HD.

Sorry, not possible, HD=HD out DV=DV out. You could send an SD signal out the analog out and record that to a seperate deck though.

And in that case you should only need an analog to digital converter box to go firewire into your laptop...if that is what you're thinking.
