I still have 10 seconds of video to shoot, I haven't finished editing, haven't done any cg work, and forget audio mixing.

I filmed letterbox on my camera, then did a 720x480 timeline, resized the letterbox to fit the screen.

Also I filmed the short entirely on the letus35, so I also had to flip horiz and vert, the image.

I don't think I'll be doing ANY color correction.

I imported all my clips on a timeline this morning, resized etc, and started a flat render of that info. So when I go home, all the preprocessing will be done, I can just import that one huge clip and cut it the way I want, then when I render, hopefully without any effects it'll be pretty quick.

Oh and i have 2 minutes of greenscreen that have no background yet. f'k balls.

I'm flying through the xanax. lol.

This contest will be getting one ROUGH ASS cut, but f'k it, you'll get something. Also I noticed some huge continuity flubs, but theres nothin I can do about it now, heh.

Sometimes you just have to say fuck it and use what you got.

I was pretty much the same way earlier.

And I think back to myself, when I first heard about the contest. I was so eager... and then I waited a couple of months- then realized the dealine was coming, and did all my work in less than a week.

Rushed much?

It's easy to let time go to waste. Preproduction becomes very important after that has happened to you once or twice. It's all a learning process.

Ok get this. Had our first reading/rehearsal last sunday. First night of shooting was this wednesday. Some voiceover work on saturday. Then a mothertrucking marathon ass 9 hour grueling shoot on sunday.

I was doing all the camera work, and was standing all day. For all the handheld shots, i'm like tiptoeing on top of a chair for the right angle, arms all shaking like jello. With the letus 35 + 55 mm lense, plus mounted mic, plus xlrs and power cables running out of it to weigh it down, i'd swear it was like 15-20 pounds. I was wrecked yesterday.l

Yeah, the long exterior day I had to work with it raining the whole day, and shooting at a high shutter speed (which makes the rain show up more) but, for the most part I was able to fake it, and hide the rain. It was brutal though, and having the lens getting spots on it after every take.

Yeah, it definitely pays to have lens wipes with you at all times.

I like exterior days. Sunburns are fun and make it seem the day was much longer than it might have been.

And BTW, now I can vote- Rock on!

Which is a play on "In like Flynn", referring to Errol Flynn, to the best of my knowledge.
